Happy Thanksgiving!

I am thankful for so many blessings today. God’s provision has been both abundant and overwhelming this year. I am so grateful for my family; they are a source of strength and priceless friendship for both Chris and I. I am grateful for my husband who is so supportive of me and my dreams. I am grateful for our home (I love coming home to our house!). Some days I sit in my office and just thank God that he provided the perfect home for us. I am so grateful that I am an auntie to a little boy that I love to the moon and back. He makes me smile whenever I think about him and playing with him may be my favorite thing ever. I am beyond blessed by my faithful, loyal, honest friends who bring me so much joy. I am thankful for my job. I love love love my job and I am blessed to be able to do something I feel so passionately about. And I am thankful to have a Savior who loves me, died for me and loves me. Happy Thanksgiving all!

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever! – 1 Chronicles 16:34

I’m Back!

Hello! First off I need to apologize for my delayed absence, I just got so busy that I had to take a break from the blog for a few weeks. I have a list sitting by my computer as way of reminder of my priorities… I needed to take a small break to tend to things on my priority list that came before my beloved blog! (You know…my faith, my hubs, my family, my design business, etc…) But I am back and hope to be posting more regularly.

Other things you can be looking forward to in the next few weeks….A new and improved blog and website, a new shop with some adorable new products, some beautiful recent custom work I can’t wait to show off, a very lovely and exciting giveaway…oh, so much! I’m so excited! Thanks for being patient and for visiting la Happy! – Sal

books of the bible illustrated

Oh. My. Word. So this is a little different than my typical post, but I just couldn’t resist when I ran across these prints by designer Jim LePage. These prints are part of a series called “Word”, they are illustrations of all of the books of the bible. Incredible! Even more I love the story behind these prints (read it in the designers own words here). He basically created this as a way to discipline himself to read the bible. I totally struggle with the same thing. I often times put daily bible reading on the bottom of my list of things to do, in favor of things I “enjoy” more. He came up with a way to teach himself discipline by doing something he enjoys along with the reading… And I have found that when I set aside time for reading the Bible, quickly the feelings of “I have to read” turn into “I want to read the word, and spend time with Jesus today”. Love this!

On a side note, if you are looking for artwork for your home, these would be incredible and they are for sale here (so reasonably priced too!). I am thinking about purchasing some for my husband’s (hopefully) soon to be home office.
